The town of Marseillan extends 18.64 miles (30 km) east of Béziers in the Hérault department. The town has two marinas: one borders the Mediterranean and is located in the resort of Marseillan-Beach, and the second, known as Port de Marseillan-Ville, extends near the historic town on the Étang de Thau. This port has 350 berths year-round reserved for boats less than 49.21 ft (15 m) in size and with a draft inferior to 5.9 ft (1.80 m). An outdoor pontoon is also accessible to barges less than 98.42 ft (30 m) long as the port of Marseillan-Ville constitutes a sought-after stopover on the Canal du Midi.
