A vast exotic tortoise greenhouse
0
0
The new Tortoise Village of Carnoules is equipped with a 1,321 sq. ft. (400 m²) high-tech greenhouse twice the size of the former facilities of Gonfaron. It can accommodate exotic species such as Pancake Tortoises (Malacochersus Tornieri) with flattened shells from Tanzania and the Kenyan highlands. These tortoises, which do not hibernate, need to be maintained in a terrarium or a greenhouse to survive winter temperatures.
