A work of art for a UNESCO heritage site

During 2018, an ephemeral work was installed on the ramparts, battlements and towers of the medieval city of Carcassonne. This work was commissioned to Swiss artist Felice Varini to commemorate 20 years since the city was classified as a UNESCO heritage site. Made up of 15 bright yellow circles, it was a monumental but ephemeral work that dressed the city from May to September 2018. The circles unfolded from a first circle adjusted in the Porte d'Aude and created a perspective effect on Carcassonne.
