There is no specific training as a bell founder. About 300 people possess the know-how of art foundry in France and come from the National School of Fine Arts, the Boulle school, or high schools specializing in industrial casting. While France had 86 bell founders in the middle of the 19th century, only 35 remained in the early 20th century. The necessity to arouse vocations among the young generations is significant as only three large bell foundries persist in the country today.
