An important fishing tradition

Trouville has always been a fishing port. Its Norman-style lighthouse was created by Fernand Moureaux, then mayor of the city, in 1935. It has been listed as a Historical Monument since 1991. Shellfish fishing is an important element of Trouville's economy, and around thirty boats still go out every day. The town is also the leading mackerel fishing port in the Baie de Seine.
