Dominating the Alsace plain, Mont Sainte-Odile is a must-see. Today the mount is surmounted by the Abbey of Hohenbourg, a convent founded by Saint Odile. In 1924, the bell tower was inaugurated, replacing the small bell tower which had existed until then. This bell tower is flanked by a turret dominated by an imposing statue of Saint Odile blessing Alsace. This statue is the work of a colmarian sculptor Alfred Klem. The bell tower also contains a set of 31 bells, the largest of which weighs five tons.
