A stone tower topped with a spire
0
0
Listed as a Historic Monument, St. Brice’s Gothic church in Ay was built on the site of an earlier building, around the 15th century. In 1550, a stone tower was constructed and topped with a spire. But no sooner was it finished that a fire destroyed the arches. Four huge buttresses were thus built, which rose almost to the cornice. The church has a large French baroque organ dating from 1749.
