The Bourgogne-Franche-Comté vineyard extends through the Yonne, Côte-d'Or, and Saône-et-Loire departments and perpetuates a tradition inherited from the Gauls. Today, Burgundy is a country of gastronomy and wines, known, among other things, for gougères, snails, poached eggs, beef bourguignon, coq au vin and rabbit à la dijonnaise. The terroirs of Burgundy mainly produce Pinot Noir grapes with red fruits, spices, or undergrowth aromas. The region's white wines are quite full-bodied, floral, and mineral.
