A technique invented in the Mediterranean

The glass blowing technique perpetuated at the Verrerie de Biot in the Alpes-Maritimes department since 1956 appeared in 300 BC in an area bordered by the Mediterranean, the Sinai, Lebanon, and Syria. It spread throughout Europe and notably established itself in Provence in the Biot region thanks to the political and commercial network of exchanges and migrations of the Roman Empire.
