La Verne is a river of the Var department and the main left tributary of La Môle. Fourteen miles (23.7 km) long, it takes its source at 1,587 ft (484 m) above sea level at Collobrières in the public forest of the Maures near the crest of La Verne. It merges with La Môle river in the eponymous village at 75.4 ft (23 m) of altitude. La Verne's watershed covers 79.5 sqm (128 km²) over the localities of Collobrières and La Mole. The Verne dam, built on its course in 1991, provides drinking water for the inhabitants of the Maures region and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
