The Church of Saint François in Le Havre is one of the oldest buildings in the city, a survivor of the bombings. A 17th-century building in Renaissance style, the end of its construction work is estimated to be in 1687. After a period in poor condition, the church was restored in 1802 by the architect Bouvard who supervised the restoration of the roof and the restoration of the stained-glass windows. This church, previously under the name of ‘Saint François de Paule’, is now dedicated to ‘Saint François d’Assise’.
