The explosion of perfumery in Grasse in the 19th century transformed the region into a huge flower garden in which the noses of the renowned perfume houses select the best scents and combine them to create new fragrances. The cultivation of perfume plants - here jasmine - has therefore become as essential as the knowledge of the products and tools necessary for their transformation. It requires both skills in botany and a perfect mastery of the soils and climate of the region.
