Briançonnais is a region of medium and high mountains that partially covers several French Alpine massifs: the Massif des Cerces to the north, the Massif des Arves to the north-west, the Massif des Écrins to the west, and the Massifs du Queyras and d'Escreins to the east, where the border with Italy also extends. Briançon constitutes the main city of the Briançonnais region.
