A spectacular but difficult hike

The hike to the Shabadran terraces is among the most spectacular in New Caledonia but is not intended for anybody. It is not recommended for children nor for people with a poor physical condition. The route between the coconut grove and the beach is difficult and little shady : it starts on a sharp and unstable coral rock, chiselled by the sea and the wind, has climbing passages and runs along impressive cliffs reaching 459ft (140m) high.
