A bull breed native of Camargue
0
0
The bulls native to the Camargue region are known as Raço di biòu. This fiery and swift breed has been recognized since 1999, has a herd book, and is the most traditionally used in Camargue races and various bullfighting games (abrivado, enciero, bandido). There are about 150 manades (herds) of Raço di biòu bulls distributed between the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Gard and the Hérault departments. These herds are increasingly numerous and small - they totaled 20,000 heads in 2011 - and a third is located within the territory of the Camargue Regional Nature Park.
