A thriving breed rediscovered by locals

The Comtois horse has become the leading draft breed in France, with nearly 3,000 births per year. The breed thrives thanks to 700 active stallions and nearly 100 others approved by the Syndicat du Cheval Comtois (Comtois Horse Union) each year. In Brevans (Jura), Julien Dugois and his father endeavor to breed the docile and peaceful horses used for carriage, collecting garbage, and watering the green spaces in Dôle. Their presence allows children to rediscover the breed while participating in an eco-friendly process.
