La Grange de la Haute Vallée farm, in Albepierre-Bredons in the Cantal department, has a herd of around forty Montbéliardes dairy cows. The breed is recognizable by its pie (spotted) red and white coat. Originating in the limestone plateaus of the Jura massif in eastern France, the Montbéliarde has been established in all French massifs from the 1950s. It naturally found its place in the mountains of Cantal, where it meets the quality requirements and economic needs of numerous farms.
