Although born in Italy, it is in France that Ettore Bugatti created his company in 1909. Throughout his career as an automotive designer, he filed close to 1,000 invention patents. More than 7,500 automobiles designed by Ettore Bugatti were assembled in Molsheim's factory. Always in search of innovation, including aesthetics, his favorite motto was: what has already been invented is a thing of the past, only innovations are worthy of interest. The Cité de l'Automobile in Mulhouse presents a large collection of his models through the years.
