A grey beach close to Mount Pelée
Le Coin, also known as Marouba, is one of the beaches bordering the municipality of Le Carbet on the Caribbean coast of Martinique. Accessible on foot from the central beach of Le Carbet, it runs along the Quartier du Coin, a preserved ensemble of Creole huts which once housed fishermen and sugar cane plantation workers. Visitors can also see there the many colorful gum tree boats and skiffs of the local fishermen. The beach is also very popular for the fullmoon parties organized by the many beachside bars. Its gray sand of volcanic origin recalls the nearby presence of Mount Pelée visible from the beach.
