Formerly dedicated to Bertrand Bérici, Consul of Aix-en-Provence at the beginning of the 15th century, and occupied by a horticultural market, the current Place des Trois Ormeaux was renamed when it was planted with three abalones replaced in the 19th century by plane trees and maple trees. Shaded, the square is surrounded by houses and occupied in summer by the terraces of the two restaurants that border it. It is centered on the eponymous fountain and its octagonal basin.
