The Trapan dam lake extends on the territory of Bormes-les-Mimosas in the Var department. Along with the Verne dam in La Môle and the Escarcets lake in Le Cannet-des-Maures, it is one of the three main water impoundments of the Maures Massif. Of the three bodies of water, only the Escarcets lake in the Plaine des Maures National Nature Reserve is authorized for swimming.
