The white rhino has a bad eyesight and only see well closely. However, it has an excellent senses of hearing and a well developed smell that it uses continuously to analyse its environment, to detect danger or to communicate. As such, it moves independently its ears in all directions to collect sound informations, and smell the ground or vegetation for olfactory clues.
