The Les Franciscaines cultural center in Deauville has recently been redesigned by the architect Alain Moatti. The former monastery, which housed the Franciscan community of Notre-Dame-de-la-Pitié de Deauville, was acquired by the city in 2012. Upstairs, the multimedia library displays corrugated shelves where books and paintings by Norman artists from the Peindre en Normandie fund alternate.
