A light on the way to Compostela
1
0
Lauzerte, in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, is listed among the Plus Beaux Villages de France (Most Beautiful Villages in France). This stopover on the way to Santiago de Compostela dominates the valleys and hills of Quercy Blanc and is nicknamed the Quercynoise Toledo. The etymology of the name of the village means light, lit place – a well-appointed name for a site that appears like a mirage to pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
