Light is fundamental in the Saint Stephen Cathedral in Metz. It invades the interior of the building and unveils the pages of the Old Testament displayed under its 13th-century ribbed vaults. Stained-glass windows in the shape of large roses extend under massive arches of Flamboyant Gothic style. Master glassmakers from different centuries succeeded one another, crafting the complex structure of the largest glazed Gothic surface in Europe.
