A line now used by a tourist train

Built from 1862, the Norman Switzerland railway line that crosses the Clécy viaduct (photo) to connect Caen to Flers experienced a peak in activity at the beginning of the 20th century. Its daily traffic was then a dozen freight trains and fifteen passenger trains. The passenger service was phased out in 1970, nine years before the freight trains. Today, the line is used to operate a tourist train and a suburban TER (regional train).
