The privileged geographical location of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie between mountains and the Verdon places it at the heart of a wide range of sports activities. The area has more than 62 miles (100 km) of marked trails for hiking, not counting the neighboring Blanc Martel and Imbut trails in the Gorges du Verdon, six mountain biking routes, climbing and canyoning sites, or paragliding possibilities from the Montdenier massif. As for the beaches of Sainte-Croix Lake, whose water temperature reaches 77° F (25° C) in summer, they extend 10 minutes away by car. A wide variety of nautical equipment (kayak, boat, canoe, paddle) is available for rent to venture into the Gorges du Verdon, where it is also possible to practice white water sports, such as rafting or aqua hiking.
