A shallow coastal lagoon
0
0
Sainte-Marguerite Island comprises a shallow coastal lagoon known as the Batéguier pond (background). It is connected to the sea by two arms that are regularly cleaned to avoid major variations in its ecological conditions, such as its salinity and its drying up. The pond is thought to extend in an old quarry whose materials would have been used to construct various buildings on Sainte-Marguerite Island.
