A car-free island

Located ten minutes by boat from the Tour Fondue, on the southern tip of the Giens peninsula (background), the island of Porquerolles stretches out in a crescent facing the town of Hyères. Its eponymous village, nestled in a cove on its northern coast, concentrates its population of 200 inhabitants and most of its infrastructures, accommodations, and catering facilities. It is also possible to rent bicycles there to ride the marked paths, maintained by Port-Cros National Park, on the island where car traffic is forbidden.
