An exclusively private island

0
Unlike Sainte-Marguerite Island (background), which is almost entirely owned by the French State and the municipality of Cannes, Saint-Honorat Island is exclusively private. It belongs to the Cistercian Congregation of the Immaculate Conception, which benefits from a right founded in title acquired before the Edict of Moulins of 1566. The only public area of Saint-Honorat Island is maritime and includes the monks' artificial shelter port, built on the ground and subsoil of the sea.
