The constitution and number of family groups of Przewalski horses in the Monts d'Azur reserve vary over the years. Nevertheless, the harems still seem to dominate the groups of single stallions. The largest of them, the grand harem, brings together about fifteen individuals that take advantage of their dominance to occupy a strategic position rich in resources near the great lake of the reserve. The petit harem, for its part, gathers four to five Przewalski horses.
