The common frog or green frog (Pelophylax kl. Esculentus) is a species included in the red list of amphibians of mainland France and protected by national law according to a decree of November 19th, 2007. It prohibits the destruction or manipulation of the batrachian as well as capturing it, collecting its eggs, and degrading its breeding and resting sites. The frog's introduction into wetlands is subject to authorization from the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development.
