Uninhabited and free of any construction and docking pontoon, Loup Garou islet is administratively attached to the municipality of Le Robert, from which it is 5.5 miles (9 km) away. If its access is totally prohibited from September 1 to December 31 to preserve its biotope from degradation, the islet is, the rest of the time, very frequented daily by tourists. When the weather and the sea conditions are favorable, it receives an average of fifty visitors per day. Some people even camp there overnight. Several shipping companies indeed offer excursions around Baie du Robert that combine visits to its four main islets: Chancel, Boisseau, Madame, and Loup Garou.
