0
Though commonly known as Spanish jasmine, large-flowered jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum) is native to the western Himalayas and has a natural distribution area that extends from north-western India and Pakistan to the Arabian Peninsula and Africa. It is cultivated in many other countries where it eventually naturalized as in Tunisia, where it became the emblematic national flower. Associated with the development of perfumery in Grasse, large-flowered jasmine is well adapted to the limestone and well-drained soils of the region.
