A diversified island farm

The farm of Saint-Honorat Island, centered on viticulture and olive growing, represents a significant part of the life of the local monastic community. Its island location required important investments to set up the entire wine industry, from the vinification vats to the bottling and labeling chain. Each year, the monastic community produces in sustainable agriculture and markets 40,000 to 45,000 bottles of red and white wines and distills wine marc as well as three herbal liqueurs. It also has more than 300 old olive trees whose annual production is transformed into 400 liters of oil at the communal mill of Contes in the Nice hinterland.
