A breeding farm dedicated to donkeys

The Domaine d'Esthine, located in Longrais at the exit of Carolles in the Manche department, is a breeding farm exclusively dedicated to the donkeys from Cotentin. The owner, Brigitte Pieau, wanted to revive a breed inextricably linked with local traditions. The twenty donkeys graze on the 27 ha (11 ha) of fields of the Domaine d'Esthine. A partnership with the Conservatoire du Littoral (Coastal Protection Agency) has been implemented for several to use the donkeys to clean up plots and paths that have remained abandoned.
