A southern Atlantic facade ideal for kitesurfing

The most famous Martinican kitesurfing spots are on the southern Atlantic facade of the island, between Vauclin and Anse Michel in Sainte-Anne. These are large, relatively calm lagoons turning calm with lapping depending on the wind and the tide. The emblematic site of Vauclin and its Pointe Faula (photo) is located on a vast shallow reef plat that extends over several miles. Very secure, it is ideal for beginners. With its complicated launching and its windless departure, Cap Est, on the other hand, is a difficult kitesurfing spot reserved for experienced practitioners. Finally, the wild and preserved spot of Cap Chevalier allows navigating between the cape and the Chevalier islet in turquoise waters.
