Since Napoleon III and Baron Haussmann, Paris has been adorned with wide avenues lined with opulent dressed stone buildings. According to the typical Haussmanian style, buildings should not exceed six floors and must be aligned at the same height. The roof is generally made of zinc and forms a 45-degree angle that allows installing attic rooms.
