A massive and robust church

The Saint-Pierre Church of Clécy was built in the 15th century. It has retained few elements from this period, as only its porch bell tower is still preserved today. During the second half of the 19th century, the architecture of the church was altered at the instigation of Abbott Beaudron, parish priest of Clécy at the time. It has since presented a robust and massive appearance accentuated by the austerity of the shale and sandstone rocks used for its construction. Apart from its imposing bell tower, the monument is renowned for the 18th-century sundial carved on the facade of its south chapel.
