A massive and austere church
0
0
Saint-Pierre Church in Clécy in the Calvados department has preserved the 15th-century porch bell tower visible in this photo. Its massive and robust appearance is accentuated by the austerity of the rocks - local shales and sandstones - used for its construction. Its bell tower is in puddingstone, while its porch and its 18th-century sundial consist of limestone from Caen. The monument's side chapels have openings in Flamboyant Gothic style.
