A short aerial life

0
The aerial life of the adult cicada is particularly short compared to the underground life of the larva. Essentially devoted to the perpetuation of the species, it ends at the term of the reproduction period, which lasts four to six weeks. After living in the larval state in the soil for several years, the adult cicada evolves for a short summer in pine and coniferous forests, dense scrub, and thick vegetation where it settles on a stem or a trunk in trees or bushes.
