At the start of a Camargue race, a first long trumpet blow announces the entrance of the star of the show. The bull exits the toril (bullpen) and penetrates the arena. After a minute of adaptation, a second ring invites the raseteur to start the confrontation. As the first period begins, a tourneur draws the bull's attention and is followed by the raseteur who triggers the charge of the animal. The third step sees the raseteur attempt to remove the attributes attached to the bull (cockade, tassels, and strings) before fleeing towards the barrier circling the arena.
