A partial copy of the original living room

Nowadays, the living room of the Villa Majorelle displays a sober setting. Originally, abundant stucco decoration with a pattern of pine cones adorned its walls, furniture, and fireplace. The same motif appeared on a stained-glass window by Jacques Gruber, destroyed in 1916 and replaced with another one with oriental decoration by Louis Majorelle's son. The furniture, consisting of a bench, two armchairs, and two chairs, are not original. Their carved decoration and embroidery are copied on old photos of the living room.
