Saint-Bartholomew Church in Gorbio in the Alpes-Maritimes department was built in 1683 by masons from the neighboring village of Sospel. The municipality of Gorbio was then too poor to afford to pay the monument in full. The works were therefore suspended for 327 years, and the Baroque-style trompe l'oeil facade was only completed in 2010.
