A clash between man and bull
Camargue races are the symbol of an entire region. These events in which bulls from the local breed are not put to death consist of a spectacular clash between the raseteurs and the animal. The participants are dressed in white and try to escape the bull while seizing the attributes attached to its head. They first go for the cockade that consists of a red ribbon glued to the animal's brow. After succeeding, the raseteurs aim for the tassels attached to the horns and, finally, the strings, which constitute the most complicated and therefore rewarded attribute.
