An unusual configuration

The Théâtre de l'Archipel, an architectural landmark of the city of Perpignan, has a particularly original configuration due to its buildings split into several blocks. More traditional constructions like those of the Corum of Montpellier are usually gathered in the same block, but the buildings of the Grenat (The Garnet, the nickname given to the Archipelago theater) are scattered. They are all of different styles and colors with a strong red tendency referring to garnet, the emblematic stone of Roussillon. The main building, housing the stage, is a dark red cubic block with several maxims inscribed in different languages on its facade.
