The village of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt is located opposite the Luberon mountain on the southern slope of the Monts de Vaucluse that shelter it from the mistral. The cultivated areas of its typically Provençal terroir consist of cherry orchards, olive groves, vineyards, and lavender fields. The territory also includes areas of scrubland, oaks, and pine forests climbing up the steep slopes of the surrounding mountains. Forests (deciduous, coniferous, mixed, or mutating) cover 42% of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt's area, also consisting of 24.3% of sclerophyllous vegetation.
