The locality of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse covers an area of 1,764 acres (714 ha) from 223 to 2,139 ft (68 to 652 m) above sea level, up the slopes of the Monts de Vaucluse. It extends in the Sorgue valley, closed by the surrounding mountains. Relatively landlocked, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse is bordered by the municipalities of Saumane-de-Vaucluse to the north and west and Lagnes to the south and east and is served by two departmental roads only.
