The Centre Pompidou-Metz displays the work phases and sketches of the painter Marc Chagall when he designed stained-glass windows for Saint Stephen Cathedral. His imagination allowed him to express his spiritual vision of the Old Testament. His ideas were transcripted on glass by two master glassmakers whose families have practiced this craft since 1640. The exhibition allows understanding the process of working with glass samples. Charles Marq and Brigitte Simon created more than a thousand for Chagall.
