A temporary coexistence

White snail - called limaçon - and cicada exuvia coexist on this stem. Limaçons are small gastropods extremely present in the Provençal countryside in southeast France. Visible on the tall stems to which they cling and on which they feed from spring to autumn, they bury themselves in winter to hibernate. As for the cicada, it abandons its exuvia, the last envelope of its larva, at the time of its final molt before beginning its short summer and aerial life.
